2. Make your sleeping environment warm, quiet and dark.

Remove all the noisy distractions that can interfere with you getting some rest. Shut off any electronics and try to reduce as much ambient noise as possible.

3. Place two to three fingers on the acupoint and press firmly anywhere from 30 seconds to 3 minutes.

This ensures that the acupoint has been sufficiently stimulated. When treating insomnia, the pressure can be applied to either of the two acupoints.

4. Get comfortable.

To have the optimum effect, you must be in a comfortable position. Breathe slowly and gently as you apply pressure to the acupoints.
