Ask a friend to massage your neck and back or if possible, treat yourself to a professional massage. If there’s a trained acupressure specialists nearby, it’s probably worth a visit. Some basic acupressure techniques can be done at home. For a headache, try pushing down on the top of the skull three times, for 30 seconds each time. Be sure to breath deeply.
Closely related to these strategies is reflexology. Use your thumb and finger of one hand to squeeze the fleshy skin between the thumb and index finger of your other hand. Hold it for up to two minutes. Some people report immediate relief. For others it doesn’t seem to work.
Many headache suffers have found relief through acupuncture. Patients will be treated one or two times a week with each session lasting anywhere between five and 30 minutes. According to practitioners, some symptoms may be relieved in one visit while chronic sufferers may require several treatments.

Herbal Remedies for Alleviating Headaches
Feverfew has a good reputation for alleviating headaches. Migraine suffers are advised to take one or two leaves each day. According to reports, this decreases the frequency and intensity of the migraines.
Peppermint, lavender, magnesium, passion flower, rosemary and willow bark have worked for some people.
You can also find homeopathic supplements recommended for the treatment of headaches. These include bryonia, iris, sanguinaria, and spigelia.
