Do you want to wake up quickly in the morning but you feel tired and sleepy every time you do it? Waking up in the morning is really a hard habit for some but in this article, we will show you the best ways on how you can wake up quickly in the morning while feeling refreshed and ready to face the day.
How to Wake Up Quickly in the Morning
Avoid drinking coffee before you go to bed
If you are working late at night to finish a project and waking up early in the morning makes you feel tired then you have to avoid drinking coffee before going to bed. It’s easy to grab a cup of coffee when you are busy at night but it has an effect in your sleep that can cause you to wake up late.
You can still drink coffee during the night but you must stop drinking several hours before you go to sleep. Based on studies, it has been reported that drinking coffee within six hours before you go to bed will make you feel uncomfortable during your sleep and it makes you feeling tired when waking in the morning.
Get busy during the day
Be productive during the day so that you can spend some of your stored energy either physically or mentally. It’s easier to sleep feeling tired and it will make you wake up quickly in the morning. Forcing your way to sleep even when you are not tired or sleepy will make it even harder for you to wake up early. Motivation is an important role in having a productive day and it’s better if you plan the things that you must do to complete your day.
Blue light affects your sleep
Exposure to blue light has a harmful effect on your sleep and if you don’t get enough sleep, you will mostly wake up late in the morning. Based on scientific studies, it is found out that blue light prevents the production of melatonin. Melatonin is a natural chemical produced by your body to help you sleep.
It’s okay to be exposed to blue light because we encounter it on our daily life but it is advised that you limit the blue light exposure within 3 hours before you sleep. Most of the blue light comes from popular electronic devices such as smartphones and tablets. You can put on a blue light blocking sunglasses if you still want to use your smartphone or tablet before going to bed.
If you want to wake up quickly in the morning, you have to sleep early at night. Adults must have at least 7 to 8 hours of sleep at night to gain enough energy and do their daily task. In order for you to wake up quickly in the morning, you must set a regular early sleeping time. When you follow a regular early sleeping time even during weekends, you will be able to naturally wake up quickly in the morning without using an alarm clock.
Avoid going to bed while having an argument with your partner
Sleeping early in bed will not help you wake up quickly in the morning if you have problems with your partner. It is really hard to sleep when both of you are having a quarrel. In order to sleep with a peaceful mind, you have to solve your relationship problems and ensure that your partner is happy before you go to sleep.
Stay away from sleeping pills
There are lots of people who are looking to find ways on how to sleep early so that they can wake up quickly in the morning and most of them resort to the use of sleeping pills. These pills will surely put you to sleep quickly but they will not fix the cause of your problem.
Once you stop taking these pills, your problem of waking up late in the morning will return unless you are willing to take these pills every day. If you are suffering from a serious sleeping illness such as insomnia then you might want to try sleeping pills but there are healthier alternative ways to solve your problem. Find the root cause of your sleeping problem and deal with it by changing your lifestyle, habits or the way you think.
Get up quickly in the morning with the sunshine
Everyone wants a dark room when they are sleeping because our body is used to it. Darkness makes us fall asleep quickly and a good way of waking up fast in the morning is to get exposed to sun light. There are two reasons why exposure to sunlight is good in the morning. First, we are used to get up when the sun shines in the morning and it’s been done by our ancestors for millions of years ago. Second, our body reacts to darkness by producing melatonin. Melatonin is a sleep hormone and can stop your body to produce melatonin by exposing yourself to sunlight.
Get some fresh air in your room
Getting up quickly in the morning needs a good night sleep but the air inside your room might be causing you to sleep late during the night. We exhale carbon dioxide because it’s poisonous and we inhale oxygen because we need it. It is a good idea to open your window at night because it removes the harmful carbon dioxide that we exhale and allows fresh oxygen to enter your room. Doing this will regulate your room’s temperature and you will sleep more easily.
Use your alarm clock the right way
Maybe you are using an alarm clock to wake up early in the morning. Even if you have an alarm clock, it doesn’t mean that you will wake up early every day. Some people have a tendency of hitting up the snooze button when they don’t feel like waking up early. If you have been pressing the snooze button every time the alarm rings, you are most likely getting up late regularly instead of getting up quickly in the morning.
A good way to fix this is to change the way you react when your alarm clock rings. Instead of pressing the snooze button, find a daily routine that you can quickly do when you open your eyes in the morning and it should put a smile on your face or get you energized such as drinking a cup of coffee or go running.
