In the fast paced lives that people live now, relaxing is something that most individuals barely think about. It is a drill that is reserved at the end of the day because of long hours spent at work. Relaxing is something that most people believe can only be achieved during rest days or by getting a real vacation—talk about spending a lot of money just to relax.
Having this mind set will slowly burn you out. If you always try to relax at the end of the day, you will end up too exhausted and this eats up your precious time with your family. Instead of spending time talking to your partners or playing with the kids, you get too tired and you doze off right away once you get home.

1. Relax your hands

2. Take a 15-minute nap
Employees usually get an hour lunch time, so why not spend at least 15 minutes of that time closing your eyes and not thinking about anything. This will help you refresh your mind and prepare you for the rest of the hours you have to spend at work.
3. Play some games
If you are not the type of person who can doze off in an instant. Or if you get a headache after a nap, then you can spend some time playing. Playing board games with some of your colleagues can take your stress off. It is also a fun and enjoyable thing to do!
4. Do some stretching
Nope, you don’t need your yoga mat for this. You can do simple stretching exercises since most of your time are spent sitting and facing your computer. While sitting, you can extend your left leg until it is level with your hip. Hold it for at least 15-30 seconds then relax. Do this on the other leg too.
You can also do arm pump. Just pump both of your arms over your head for 30 seconds. Or if you are not comfortable with this, stand up and walk around for about 15 minutes. Not only does this help you relax in the middle of the day, this will also help your blood circulation.
5. Listen to some soothing music
Listening to music is probably the easiest way to relax in the middle of the day.
In this day and age, almost everyone have mobile phones. So go ahead and download some Michael Bublé songs. Make sure to find a quiet spot where you can sit down and rest your back. You can also take the 15-minute nap while listening to some Jazz music. Make sure to bring your headphones so you can enjoy listening to relaxing music without any interruption. This will allow you to take your mind off work without trying too hard.
6. Have a cup of tea
There are a lot of teas that can help you relax. Try Chamomile tea which you can buy at supermarkets or even at the nearest convenience store. Make sure to have at least 3 bags in your lunch kit so you have something to drink in case you need to. Any tea would refresh you and would calm your nerves right away.

7. Turn your monitor off
If you are too busy to stand up and can’t afford to walk away from your workstation, turn your monitor off for at least 10 minutes. Take deep breathes and try to clear your mind. This will not only help your eyes relax a bit, it will also refresh your mind to help you get new ideas or solutions you might need at your job.
8. Stay away from social media
Most people think that spending time on Facebook or Twitter is a way to relax in the middle of the day.
But that is a huge no-no!
You don’t need to know what is happening with your neighbor’s love life in order to relax. Most of the time, this brings too much drama in your life and that does not help in your goal. Reserve your spare time clearing your thoughts and do not dwell on the crazy and dramatic world that the social media would bring.
9. Get a mini massage
This may not be applicable to all but there are some offices wherein there are massage chairs at the lobby. Some offices are also located near malls where a lot of massage chairs are available. This is one great way to relax those stiff muscles. Just make sure not to spend too much time on that amazing massage chair as that will surely make your muscles sore.
